Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup sourdough starter Ensure it is healthy and active.
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and grease a 12-cup muffin tin.
  • In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter, flour, sugar, milk, melted butter, and egg. Mix until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
  • Fold in the baking soda and salt. Scoop the batter into the prepared muffin cups, filling them about 3/4 full.
  • Baking time may vary depending on your oven, but the muffins should be golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center should come out clean, approximately 18-22 minutes.
  • Allow the muffins to cool in the tin for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack. Enjoy your homemade sourdough muffins!
