Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the milk, cream, sugar, and salt. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar has fully dissolved and the liquid is warm but not boiling.
Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Allow the mixture to cool completely, then transfer it to a chilled ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
