Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Baking Sheet
  • Parchment paper

Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour 375g
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter softened, 14g
  • 1 cup warm water 240ml
  • 1 tablespoon active dry yeast 11g

Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, and sugar. Add the butter and warm water, then sprinkle the yeast over the top.
  • Using a wooden spoon or your hands, mix the ingredients until a shaggy dough forms. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes, until the dough is smooth and elastic.
  • Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down the dough to release any air bubbles, then divide it into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a smooth ball and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  • Cover the rolls and let rise for an additional 30 minutes. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Bake the rolls for 15-20 minutes, or until they're golden brown. Allow the rolls to cool for a few minutes before serving.
