Ingredients

  • 1 cup Rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 cups Milk or non-dairy milk
  • 2 tablespoons Maple syrup or honey
  • 1 pinch Salt
  • 1/4 cup Chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the oats, cocoa powder, milk, maple syrup or honey, and a pinch of salt. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the oats are cooked and the desired consistency is reached, approximately 5-7 minutes.
  • If the mixture becomes too thick, add a splash of extra milk to thin it out. Once finished, you can stir in a handful of chocolate chips for an extra chocolaty treat.
  • To make this dish even more versatile, you can experiment with different toppings such as fresh berries, sliced bananas, chopped nuts, or a dollop of peanut butter.
