Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and peanut butter together until smooth and combined. Add the granulated sugar and brown sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Scoop the dough by rounded tablespoons onto baking sheets. Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still slightly soft. Allow to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
  • For an extra peanut butter flavor, you can use crunchy peanut butter instead of creamy. You can also play around with different mix-ins, such as chopped peanuts or a drizzle of melted peanut butter on top of the baked cookies.
