Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups granulated sugar

  • 1 batch Buttercream frosting For frosting and decorating

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool completely before frosting and decorating.
