Equipment

  • Skillet or Grill Pan
  • Resealable Bag or Shallow Dish

Ingredients

  • 6 pieces bone-in, skin-on chicken thighs
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  • In a large resealable bag or shallow dish, combine the soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and red pepper flakes (if using). Add the chicken thighs and toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, up to 4 hours.
  • When ready to cook, preheat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken thighs, skin-side down, and cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the skin is crispy and golden brown.
  • Flip the chicken and continue cooking for an additional 5-7 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
  • For best results, let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving. The juices will redistribute, ensuring a moist and flavorful dish.
  • Serve the Asian Chicken Thighs with your favorite sides, such as steamed rice, roasted vegetables, or a fresh salad.
